PARENT INVOLVEMENT - SOCIAL FUNCTIONS

Socializing at SCC can be spontaneous and casual, as well as at regularly planned events. We encourage parents picking up their children to visit with the other parents and with the children who have become an important part of their child's life. We also sponsor a quarterly Family Night for the entire family. These Family Nights are a pot-luck get together so parents can meet one another and develop family friendships. Annually we have our Family Picnic in the park for all past and present families. At that picnic we honor our preschool children who will be graduating and going off to kindergarten.

Periodically we also have social gatherings so the preschool children who like to perform can do a presentation for the parents. This has been a fun way to get together and acknowledge the children for their accomplishments. In the past the children have done such things as a nativity Christmas play, the Three Little Pigs play, and a singing demonstration of their American Sign Language abilities, as well as other presentations.
